Show tracks for Sat. Oct. 10/09

First show back after two pledge drive shows. Thanks again to all who donated their time and money to CJAM.
First show on the new 99.1FM frequency. A concerted effort on my part, after saying 91.5 for 20 years, I only managed a half slip. I caught myself before I said it all. We'll see how next week goes...lol
For the big news, the announcement you all have been waiting for....lol What is new with Cowboys & Indies? I announced last night that after an anniversary year of special broadcasts celebrating 20 years of music on CJAM, that Cowboys & Indies Rewind will keep that celebration going. The new special edition show will celebrate the musical history of the show as well as the music that influenced it. First edition will be coming very soon. I hope to have about 1 a month. The normal Cowboys & Indies show will remain the same brilliant show it's always been.
Busy show as we've been in pledge drive mode for 2 weeks. The albums have been piling up. we took a look a three new albums. As well as a bunch of new releases!

Show tracks for Sat. Oct. 3/09 Pledge Drive Pt.2

Well, it's official 91.5Fm is off the air. The party last night was great. I think we all realize now how great 99.1FM will be starting tomorrow (Wed.) at noon.
The pledge drive appears to have been a success. The final totals are not in yet, but they seem to indicate that we got very close to our goal for 2009! Thanks to all who pledged at any point through this year's pledge drive!
Sorry for the delay in posting but it was an end to a hectic couple weeks of radio.

So I was thinking what should me first song be on my first show on 99.1FM? I have a couple ideas, but if you have any feel free to post them here before this Saturday. If I pick your song I will send you a free cd or maybe 2.

Well, it seems that the crap email service I use has lost all my drafts. So I can't update the tracks played on the last weeks show. It was the second pledge drive show so there wasn't as much music played as normal. If I can recover them I will post them right away.
Sorry for any inconvenience!

Show tracks for Sat. Sept. 26/09 Pledge Drive Pt.1

IT'S COMING!

After all the hullabaloo of the pledge drive and frequency switch, we will be debuting a new aspect of our show. The weekly show will remain the same as always, but there is a special addition coming soon. It's still a secret. We'll announce it on our fist show on 99.1FM.

The pledge drive is under way for 2009. Our first of two pledge drive shows was a success raising just under $300. Thanks to all people who pledged their support to CJAM! There is still more time for you to do the very same thing. You also have one more chance to pledge during Cowboys & Indies this coming Saturday night.

The show was a little less music orientated this week because of all the talking. The same thing will happen next week. Because of pre-emptions, the pledge drive, etc there will be only 1 "normal" show in over a month. I do apologize for that, but pledge drives are necessary. We opened the proceedings with a track named for our Pledge Drive this year, Movin' On Up, little did Primal Scream know that they wrote a track for out Pledge Drive some 18 years early...lol

Oct. 5/09 at midnight after the Pledge Drive closes for this year, CJAM will go off the air for a few days while the switch 99.1FM is concluded. So by that Saturday, October 10, our show should be on 99.1FM.

After all the hullabaloo of the pledge drive and frequency switch, we will be debuting a new aspect of our show. The weekly show will remain the same as always, but there is a special addition coming soon. It's still a secret. We'll announce it on our fist show on 99.1FM.
----------
Well, now that all the announcements are done, time to get down to business. The show was slightly pre-empted by Lancer football. Show tracks for Sat. July 11/09

Well, we're back to the normal format after last weeks special show. Lots of positive feedback on the special show which was great. It was a blast doing it and it brought back lots of great memories of doing the Brit night at the Loop many moons ago. Stay tuned for the news on the next special show in August.
We often make the joke "Is anyone listening?" We know that's not true but last night I did wonder. With Festival Epicure, Phog Fest and Kiss at the Casino last night, that was probably more a true statement than a joke...lol
Regeneration Tour was a complete joke this year. Bands canceling left and right. That left Detroit with 3 bands instead of the scheduled 5. Don't get me started. Show tracks for Sat. May 30/09

The first two songs tonight go out to a friend, Marianne, who went through a traumatic few weeks. Her beloved puppy, Eno, went missing. She and friends combed the greater Toronto area, until finally the search was over and he was returned. Due to the kindness of a family who took little Eno in and kept him safe until the reunion.
