Glittering Prizes! Show tracks for Sat. Dec, 17/16 Festive 50 Part 1
So it's upon us once again, The Festive 50. It's the year end countdown so big it takes two shows to air! The first part of tonight's program is the usual assortment of new releases and favourites. Then the last part of the show we get the countdown started. It will finish in two weeks time on New Year's Eve.
So we'll see you then.
If you are new to the show this year here is what the Festive 50 is all about. Yes, it is named after our idol John Peel's Festive 50. But the similarities end there. Where as John counted back the top 50 singles as voted by his listeners, we count back the top 50 artists of the year. There is a chart every month compiling the hottest plays of that month. Those 12 charts are then compiled to find the top 50 artists that had the best year.
